Spreading the love: LuAnne of Weeshas World

One of my fave parts of blogging is connecting with and supporting all you lovely bloggers out there:D

As a result I have an ever growing blogroll, and have been wanting to feature other bloggers on a regular basis!

So, to start of my "Spreading the love"-series of blogger features I am very happy to shine
the light on one of my fave bloggers: the ever fashionable and sweet LuAnne of Weeshas World.
I love her style!

Thanks LuAnne for taking the time for my questions! xxx

Here we go:

Could you share with us your thoughts on fashion vs fatshion?

Well, honestly I don’t quite like the word fatshion because I think it separates us from the overall fashion world even more. Fatshion is only for fat girls? so skinny girls can’t wear this or like it? what isn’t fatshionable? skin tight skirts? strapless dresses? It almost implies that we’re fashionable despite being fat which is ridiculous. Fat girls can wear anything a skinny girl wears and I don’t think we need another label. It shouldn’t be a big thing that we’re just as stylish as thin people- we’re all human you know? I'm thinking the word fashion should be sufficient for everyone of all sizes, no segregation.

What is your philosophy with regard to fashion?

I think fashion is self expression, creativity, identity and of course fun. It’s a lot about design, looking good and is totally subjective. There are no rules so just wear whatever makes you happy :)

I would love for you to share three of your fave looks!

Oh man, I have too many! I think I like looks that are casual chic (like denim shirts, sun dresses, graphic tshirts), edgy & sexy without over kill (ripped leggings, leopard prints, red lipstick) and romantic, pretty looks (florals, lace, polka dots, etc).

How does blogging impact your life?

It’s great to be part of a community of such supportive girls, I get very inspired to try new things and do more of my own thing instead of caring about what other people think. Blogging has also made me love myself better and has given me a sense of purpose. I’ve always been into dressing up but apart from the fun side, I get to show other girls that you don’t have to be a particular size to be fashionable or to feel good about yourself. Plus, it’s another creative outlet for me, so that’s awesome too.

Do you have a message for all the fashionloving ladies out there, whatever their size?

Just do your own thing. Be you, be different, do/ wear what makes feel happy. Screw everyone else’s opinion haha.

Gotta love this girl! <3

Enjoy her stylish world at Weeshas World!

I like the word Fatshion. I just see it as a niche. Like there are blogs about dressing modestly, haute couture, I've even seen blogs about fashion for very petite girls... it's just another fashion category that describes something. It's just fashion for fat girls.

I also like it because it it empowering. The word fat used to be so off limits (and still is to some) that linking fat to fashion is really just putting the word out there.

Just my thoughts :)

@Sarha, thanks for sharing! I absolutely see your point, that there is power in claiming and redefining a previously derogatory word. I think this whole fashion/fatshion-discussion is very interesting! big hugs for you :)
