Coat-dress, miniskirt-scarf and other spotty possibilites

Hi Sweethearts!

Thank you all for your love,
I have been round to each one of you to thank you and enjoy your fab blogs!
<3

For me, life is all about seing the possibilities!

A chance meeting can bring a new best friend.
A no or a yes can bring a lesson in life.
Not being where I want to be can bring pride when I acheive a goal.
Taking what seems like a wrong turn can bring something into my life that I didn`t know I needed.
Not having the money to shop as much as I like can mean that a fab cushion with newspaper-print might get a new life as a bolero.
Being bored can bring new ideas.
Feeling lonely can make me brave.
Being late in the morning can provide a tad of exercise running for the bus.
Not having regrets can mean self acceptance.
Having wrinkles means I can count all my smiles.
Having a big bum can mean that I have more to shake when dancing.
Realizing that being fat I really can not hide can mean that I might as well dress in spots.
:D

In short, I seldom see problems, I just maybe haven`t found the solutions yet.
That attitude is what has gotten me into this outfit with spots all over the girls LOL

This is one of those outfits where I am wearing stuff that came from seeing the possibilites and not the limitations:
A miniskirt that I can only get around one thigh has become a much loved scarf (H&M).
Not having any black material meant that a coat became a skirt (coat and top, H&M).
Needing somthing green for a top but being broke had me crafting a bolero (Fabric from H&M-dress).
Being in denial about living in a country where I need practical shoes for fall helped me welcome my leopard booties (Nilson)

Tell me, what are your take on the possibilites in life and in fashion?

Even in grief there is laughter

Hi Sweethearts.

I am writing this post with tears in my eyes.

This weekend I lost a grandmother. My family lost an amazing source of strength and inspiration.
The design community - in Norway and internationally- lost the grande dame of design.

My grandmother was Grete Prytz Kittelsen.
If you grew up in Scandinavia chances are that you used her designs every day.

The news are all over the press now, and it makes the grief even stronger,
but it also is a fitting tribute to her lifes work.

My family and I were fortunate to see her one last time, to say goodbye.
I debated with my self to pause blogging, but, you know, I think she would have wanted me to go on with my life, to continue being creative.
She was not a sentimental woman, she was all about her work, all about creating and looking forward.
She was an amazing inspiration to me and loosing her has hit me harder then I expected.

Still, I have laughter and joy in my life even now, thinking of her and celebrating her life.
It`s a strange thing, this life.

So, prosaic as this seems, the outfit is:

Dress, my design
Sequin scarf worn as a tie
Boots, Skopunkten

I`ll be writing a post about my grandmother now, I think you would have liked her.

Frozen clocks and bigger dreams

Hi Sweethearts!

Let me start off this post by thanking you all for your comments and for taking the time to stop by!
<3

Today I took a step toward creating a much needed change in my professional life,
and as daunting as it was, dreaming big is better then dreaming small, don`t you think?

One of my biggest dreams that I am working towards is starting my own brand, By Anika!
I just need to find the time.

Bolero, my design ( made from top, H&M, shoulder embelishments from a different top, spotty fabric)
Frozen clock, Day Birger et Mikkelsen
Bangles bought in Croatia
Hairband, ring, Lindex

Globetrotting in polka dots

Hi sweethearts!

This dress combines two of my great loves; big cities and polka dots! LOL!
As a child I lived in Paris, and developed an intense love-affair with the great cities of Europe early on.

Oslo is a lovely city to live in, but at tad small. One of my dreams is to go to New York! Anyone want to meet up in the big apple?

The outfit:

Dress, my design (made from two scarves, the bottom is from the mens department at H&M)
Various bangles
Hairband, H&M
Ring, Lindex
Bag, Zara
Ballerinas, Din Sko

Tell me, what is your favourite city?

All spotty with self acceptance

Hi sweethearts!

Thank you for all of your feedback and for following my blog!
I appreciate each and every one of you!
<3

Yesterday I sewed this dress. You like? I have to say I felt really happy wearing it today.
It was like, let me sway my hips and work these spots. I am me, and I am not apologizing for who I am. LOL :D

The outfit:
Spotty dress, my design (I found the top in the mum-section, but nevermind, it was love at first sight, so I chopped it and added the green tulle fabric)
Neckless, bought somewhere in Dublin, forget where
Scarf and ring, H&M
Earrings, Vero Moda
Sandals, DNA

Lately I am sewing a new dress every night, I have too many ideas and not enough time! LOL

Tell me, where do you stand on spots? ;)
