You know how changing our thoughts changes our lives?

Today I have been thinking about the little things that gave me joy during this ordinary Tuesday:

Black coffee first thing in the morning

A hug from a lovely collegue

Thinking about you guys

Having a councelling session with a pupil turn into a dance off with Rihannas latest hit blasting in my office (he is 12 and put my moves to shame, but I did walk the dog very nicely thank you very much LOL)

Feeling inspired to sew an outfit that reflects a painting that I love

Picturing my sis on a beach in Vietnam having her glasses nicked by a (very fashionforward) monkey

Laughing out loud at the memory of my brother working my bonkers glasses (he is a total sweetheart, and oddly pulled the glasses off better than I can)

Noticing the beautiful leaves on the trees on my way home when I remembered to lift my head and stop thinking about work

Making this list and realizing that this ordinary Tuesday has infact been a lovely Tuesday.

Ruffles, ruffles everywhere!

Hi Sweethearts!

How are you?

Today I spent most of the morning de-ruching this lovely dress after

a very funny moment in the mirror taking in the glory of my

generous curves all decked out in ruching LOL

Let`s just say that I removed 99% of the ruffles, you get the pic :D

I also customized the size 44-dress to fit my not size 44-self

(by customize I mean that I cut splits in the sides of the top to make room for the girls hahhaha)

Dancing the night away in flowy black and grey

Hi sweethearts!

This weekend I am spending most of my time at the amazing Mela-festival, which is an annual multicultural

music festival. I`ll try to show you some pics tomorrow :)

For a night of shaking my hips to the bangra I needed to wear something lightweight and comfortable,

and this outfit was just that.

Remember how I said I want to dare to dance in the street?

CHECK!!!

I had lots of surprised and amused looks when I was grooving away today from people not used to seing a Norwegian dance to their music I guess, and I also had the

pleasure of learning how to dance Bangladeshi-style from some of the people there!

Such fun :)

Brilliant black and grey

Here`s me posing in a hurry and in brilliant sunshine today :D

Black dress of my own design, the top of the dress is a Tshirt from H&M that

I cut short and added to the dress

Sandals from Zara that I reworked today

Leather strap used as bangle and turqoise mirror-ring, both H&M

Shoelaces used as neckless.

I love these sandals from Zara, but they were a bit tight over my toes, and I couldn`t

be bothered to widen them, so instead I cut off the silver strap and added grey fabric

from a dress. :D What do you think?

Today is the first day of my summer holiday, and I couldn`t be happier about it!

My sequined coat - reborn!

Here`s my outfit today;

 a brown dress with a cropped dusty grey jacket that I made from a coat yesterday,

and a keyring used as neckless

I threw in some leopard in the mix on my way home from work

Yummy glitz

I got this coat from Noa Noa a while back as a birthday present mum

 and fell in love with the colour and detailed waist,

but never quite felt comfortable wearing it, even after shortening the sleeves a while back.

So, yesterday, I hesitated no further, and simply chopped it off at the waist!

I love the result,

and highly recommend chopping away at pieces you love but need to tailor to your taste :)

 I accentuated the embellished waist by cutting the back a bit shorter than the front, creating an added emphazis on the grey bling

Sequin delights

I picked up this fringed keychain at Lindex

and added some string to make a statement neckless. Love it!

This is my fave brown dress, that I made from fabric from a Noa Noa-dress.

It is a great staple in my wardrobe, basic, but not black!

Today I`m working this printed dress, wearing this flight of birds put me in a happy mood - perfect for gearing up for the weekend!

I mixed the dress with a purple scarf, a statement neckless, sweet hued bling and grey booties

Mixing it up

I don`t know about you, my fellow fashion-lovers, but I don`t normally like to wear the same outfits several days in a row, mixing it up keeps it more fun I think. However, after a shopping spree last week I have found myself wanting to enjoy my new fave accessories several days in a row, so I have had fun wearing them each day, worked with a different mix of dresses and colours.

Here are two of my outfits with my fave grey scarf, pink ring and grey wegdes from this week:

Grey loves colour:
Grey booties and scarf mixed with one of my all time fave purple dresses from Monsoon, grey vest, feathered headband and pink ring. Oh and a wee twinkle ;)


Grey goes muted:

Grey scarf and booties mixed with a muted brown dress, black vest, pink ring and my husbonds watch, and a smile :)

Gray dress duplex

What to do when you find a fab dress that doesn`t fit? Get two!

Never one to succumb to the tyranny of size, that`s what I did when I spotted a lovely grey dress adorned with a studded neckline from Gina Tricot that I simply couldn`t leave without.

(I`ve spent years working up the courage to go to shops that don`t carry my size without feeling like an absolute schmuck, and now that I really feel that it`s not me and my size that`s the problem I`m making the most of this positive outlook on fashion, -because I`m bloody well worth it, haha! )

So, home I went, and after a bit of cutting and sewing I was ready to go out that night in my one of a kind flowy grey dress.

I actually love the studs on the dress so much that now the neckline from the second dress is humouristically displayed in our spare room!
Let`s face it though, it probably is only a matter of time before the neckline has been reworked into a bag, courtesy of yours truly :D
